What to Expect From the New 2019 Subaru Impreza Range

Subaru Impreza

The Subaru Impreza may have been around for years, but this doesn’t mean that the features are stuck in the past. The new Impreza has innovative features throughout the range, so here we’ll explore what you can expect from this fantastic model.

Standout Features

The new-generation Subaru Impreza is packed with high tech safety, comfort, and excellent drive experience. Subaru has managed to create a practical sedan and hatchback that feels well equipped and roomy despite its modest proportions. Although you can’t tow with the sedan, the Impreza is fantastically practical and stylish.

Impressive Spec List

Every Subaru Impreza variant is equipped with cruise control and air conditioning that can be operated with the steering wheel controls. These controls can also be used for your phone and the audio system. There is also a colour touchscreen infotainment system with MP3 compatible sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and cabin controls. The infotainment system also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to display and control compatible smartphone apps.

The range specification list also includes alloy wheels, reverse camera, and seven airbags. There is also an impressive safety suite that includes electronic stability control to control a skid and hill start assist to control the braking when you’re setting off on an uphill slope.

A Superb Engine

The Subaru Impreza is limited to one engine option, but it is certainly fantastic. The four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol unit is paired with a continuously variable auto transmission and offers excellent performance while maintaining a frugal consumption of 7.0 litres per 100 kilometres. This economy is achieved through an impressive engine that shuts down and restarts automatically when you stop in traffic. This helps to save fuel in the stop-start driving patterns of the city.

However, what makes the Impreza engine stand out is that unlike every other four-cylinder small car engine, Subaru has mounted the engine flat across the engine bay. This means that the weight of the engine is placed lower in the vehicle for more responsive steering.

Upgrade Potential

If you want to get even more features, there is some great upgrade potential. The base model 2.0i has an impressive spec list, but if you opt for the 2.0i-L, there is even more kit. Most notably is the inclusion of the EyeSight safety suite. Subaru’s EyeSight features adaptive cruise control, auto emergency brakes, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. These active safety features enhance the driving experience even further. The 2.0i-L also includes a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, two instrument panel displays, dual-zone climate control, and exterior power fold mirrors.

The 2.0i-Premium adds sat-nav and powered sunroof, while the top of the line 2.0i-S adds auto windscreen wipers, auto headlights, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The new Subaru Impreza is roomier compared to the previous generations, with a smartly designed cabin. If you would like to learn more about the Impreza, be sure to call in and see us. The Perth City Subaru staff would be delighted to answer any queries and arrange your test drive.
