The Styling
The Subaru Liberty 2018 range had been due for an update, and loyal customers are in for a treat. The new styling has a far sleeker look, with the black grille bars swapped out for chrome and other nice touches to complement the clean lines. The 3.6R flagship variant has new multi function headlights with adaptive beam control, a sharper profile with a revised front bumper and a diffuser look to the rear bumper to emphasise the dual tailpipes. There is also a new 18 inch alloy design with five twin spoke rims.
Inside the Cabin
The interior of the Liberty has certainly been given some gloss. The shinier panels are more distinctly defined, and there is a chrome surround to the centre stack that mimics a tablet device and showcases the larger touchscreen. This has been increased to 8.0 inches for the 3.6R and 2.5i Premium. Lower spec models feature a 6.5 inch screen. The new screen incorporates smartphone mirroring with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Tom Tom navigation and great touch response. The 3.6R also has an exclusive Harmon Kardon stereo system.
While these changes may be more striking, there are also lots of subtle revisions. There is a new heating ventilation control arrangement, new look steering wheel, and more gloss black toggles and buttons. The cabin is also very practical with an impressive array of storage options including console bins, compartments, door pockets and cup holders.

Third Generation EyeSight
The new Subaru Outback is also equipped with the third generation EyeSight system. This features a higher resolution and quicker camera that provides a wider and longer field of vision. This not only helps visibility but improves the adaptive cruise control and increases the maximum operating effectiveness of the autonomous emergency brakes from 30 to 50 kilometres per hour. The EyeSight suite also provides a myriad of driver aid tech including lane keep assist, vision assist, and adaptive driving beam.
