When they are looking for new car finance, Perth based drivers can quickly become overwhelmed by the sheer number of options available. Here at Perth City Subaru, we offer financing options that are purely focussed on car purchasing. One of the most exciting Subaru cars is the BRZ; it’s the only rear wheel drive sports car in our stable and thanks to clever engineering it drives like an all wheel drive roadster. Recently, the forthcoming 2019 BRZ details were revealed for the Japanese domestic market. Let’s take a closer look at what this model has to offer and how this could affect a future New BRZ release here.
A “Partially Improved” BRZ?
Subaru has confirmed that they will release a “partially improved” BRZ for the Japanese domestic market in 2019. This is a direct quote from Subaru, and it seems that something may have been lost in the translation. In fact, this is a pretty significant update that BRZ fans may want to look at closely. At a glance there are some styling changes, some minor aerodynamic improvements and the suspension has been revised.
The released pictures show a 2019 BRZ in STI sports trim with brand new rear arch fins to suppress air turbulence from the rear body to the rear wheel arch. The dampers have been returned to improve the already impressive handling characteristics. The powertrain is unchanged; we still get the impressive 2.0L horizontally opposed boxer engine that generates 147 kW of power and 205 Nm of torque. However, Japanese petrolheads buying the RA racing variant will get a new roll cage and seat belt design.
Australian Availability
Subaru Australia has confirmed via industry insiders that some minor changes are incoming for the 2019 BRZ Australian release. At the moment, there are no concrete details about the timing of this release, and we don’t know which Japanese changes will be incorporated into the BRZ released here. The aerodynamic and suspension tweaks will be the most likely changes for the Australian market, but dedicated petrolheads will be disappointed if the Japanese RA racing variant is not available here.
